SSM Resources
SSM Resources established in 2013, is a “boots on the ground” health and safety consulting company serving southern Alberta’s agriculture industry. We specialize in providing expertise for small and medium size employers who are looking for assistance in implementing and managing their health and safety programs. We offer a wide range of services providing the best solutions for our clients’ needs.
SSM Resources prides itself in finding practicable, sustainable and cost effective solutions for our clients. We work closely with employers to ensure a customized approach that fits their operation and provide the support necessary to ensure success of the program with their employees.
We understand it does not make sense for smaller companies to have full time dedicated staff to administer their health and safety programs. SSM Resources is there to assist with a special short-term project or provide on-going support and program development on a regular part-time basis.
SSM Resources takes pride in delivering high quality work and building relationships based on great communication. Our client’s trust and satisfaction are the foundation of our company.
Sherri Marthaller-Safety Leader
I started my safety consultant business in 2013, after working several years as a Safety Manager for a large multi-national food processing company in Alberta. These years of consulting have given me first hand experience with safety programs in the agriculture, manufacturing and construction industries. These opportunities gave me insight into what makes a safety culture strong and sustainable. I strive to provide a fresh approach to helping smaller companies develop and implement their safety programs. This approach is based on hard work, listening to client’s expectations, and involving employees in the process.
Prior to starting my safety career in 2009, I worked with livestock producers and feedlots in the business and finance sector. This along with growing up on a ranch in Wyoming, set the stage early for a calling to work with producers and a love for the “agriculture way of life”. In the summer of 2017, I accepted a role as an Advisor with AgSafe Alberta and continue to work with this producer led organization to assist Alberta farms, feedlots and ranches in implementing safety programs that fit their unique work schedules and processes.
My approach is a “boots on the ground” mentality, assisting with development of technical aspects of a safety management system but also with the day to day delivery of the program, working side by side with employers, family members and employees every step of the way. I believe team involvement is the key to a stronger safety culture for any company.
